Lincoln’s Letter to his Son’s Teacher.......a post i have enjoyed the most.......................Hope you will also love this.................................... .with the same thoughts here is the post..........Lincoln’s Letter to his Son’s Teacher........

He will have to learn, I know,
that all men are not just,
all men are not true.
But teach him also that
for every scoundrel there is a hero;
that for every selfish Politician,
there is a dedicated leader…
Teach him for every enemy there is a friend,

Steer him away from envy,
if you can,
teach him the secret of
quiet laughter.

Let him learn early that
the bullies are the easiest to lick…
Teach him, if you can,
the wonder of books…
But also give him quiet time
to ponder the eternal mystery of birds in the sky,
bees in the sun,
and the flowers on a green hillside.

In the school teach him
it is far honourable to fail
than to cheat…
Teach him to have faith
in his own ideas,
even if everyone tells him
they are wrong…
Teach him to be gentle
with gentle people,
and tough with the tough.

Try to give my son
the strength not to follow the crowd
when everyone is getting on the band wagon…
Teach him to listen to all men…
but teach him also to filter
all he hears on a screen of truth,
and take only the good
that comes through.

Teach him if you can,
how to laugh when he is sad…
Teach him there is no shame in tears,
Teach him to scoff at cynics
and to beware of too much sweetness…
Teach him to sell his brawn
and brain to the highest bidders
but never to put a price-tag
on his heart and soul.

Teach him to close his ears
to a howling mob
and to stand and fight
if he thinks he’s right.
Treat him gently,
but do not cuddle him,
because only the test
of fire makes fine steel.

Let him have the courage
to be impatient…
let him have the patience to be brave.
Teach him always
to have sublime faith in himself,
because then he will have
sublime faith in mankind.

This is a big order,
but see what you can do…
He is such a fine little fellow,
my son!

~ Abraham Lincoln

LIFE IS A SERIES OF PROBLEMS.........
The problems you face will either defeat you or develop you -- depending on how you respond to them. Unfortunately most people fail to see how God wants to use problems for good in their lives. They react foolishly and resent their problems rather than pausing to consider what benefit they might bring. Here are five ways God wants to use the problems in your life:

1. God uses problems to DIRECT you. Sometimes God must light a fire under you to get you moving. Problems often point us in a new direction and motivate us to change. Is God trying to get your attention?

2. God uses problems to INSPECT you. People are like tea bags . . . if you want to know what's inside them, just drop them into hot water! Has God ever tested your faith with a problem? What do problems reveal about you?

3. God uses problems to CORRECT you. Some lessons we learn only through pain and failure. It's likely that as a child your parents scold you not to touch a hot stove. But you probably learned by being burned. Sometimes we only learn the value of something ... health, money, a relationship . . . by losing it.

4. God uses problems to PROTECT you. A problem can be a blessing in disguise if it prevents you from being harmed by something more serious. Last year a friend was fired for refusing to do something unethical that his boss had asked him to do. His unemployment was a problem -- but it saved him from being convicted and sent to prison a year later when management's actions were eventually discovered.

5. God uses problems to PERFECT you. Problems, when responded to correctly, are character builders. God is far more interested in your character than your comfort. Your relationship to God and your character are the only two things you're going to take with you into eternity.

Here's the point: God is at work in your life -- even when you do not recognize it or understand it. But it's much easier and profitable when you do.

God Bless ................

*** this story is just posted not to show how great i am or how weak i am ...........or vice versa.............it is posted because i was writing down some points of my personal life in a forum "Failure............" so thought if i start a new forum it will reach to many more friends and god knows.........who will get the positive points which i wanted to mention that failure is nothing but the foundation of success....."

So here i go with the true story of mine........each word written here is nothing but the truth................

*** I have changed few names

**************************************** **********************

I was in my tenth class and as it was board exams ........everyone was studying really hard..................but this was the time when cable TV dish antenna was in its introductory age and everyone was just trying to watch the serials and movies and relevant stuff on TV..............And this is my biggest problem that i am addict to things ........................be that any thing to eat any relationship any habit anything................................ .....I started watching the TV day and night and parents did not notice this thing because my room was on top floor and second thing they were thinking that i am responsible enough to make decisions and third thing they were busy with their work.............................so did not notice much.................................... .................I had some teachers in class..........and one teacher was Anil Mehta who was very famous science and english teacher .............and was my teacher from 6th to 9th he was taking tuitions with other teacher who teach mathematics and social science and other subjects......................they had some problems with in their relationship and decided to teach separately with other teachers.....................and i was the one who decided to go with my mathematics teacher...................this decision made my science teacher furious and completely against me..................because i was very popular in school and second thing was very intelligent and this decision can at least influenced the hospital children (my parents are doctor) ......................................

He (my teacher) started comments ......................like i will see when you will get distinction from that teacher..........or likewise things.....................As i have not studied .............I git only 43% marks in examination just barely managed to pass the examination .................and this thing made the science teacher vijay singh chohan so proud that in many mant times with my reference either he insulted the mathematics teacher or me...............I cried a lot...........................But mamma when noticed it she told me very clearly that now there is no benefits of doing all this drama better i concentrate on studies and resit in the September examination..............

As i started my tuition again..........my mathematics teacher was more concerned and .worried about my performance because my performance was his question of his reputation in the area.............as the arguments and challenge between them was hot news of the town............

I worked day and night meanwhile parents wanted me to start my eleventh class also and they wanted me to do that through medical stream ...................but institution denied that......................because of my poor performance in examination...........................so unwillingly i took admission in ARTS stream..........and started my classes........................luckily or unluckily Anil Mehta become lecturer (got promoted from teacher) and my class in charge .....................................The re was not a single class or moment when he has not insulted passed comments in all class when he has not tortured me ......................................I still remember he insulted me in prayer by saying that "He has experience of his complete life and no one gets more than 5% in resit just after 2-3 months of final examination (that time a student was able to sit in all papers now a days i think student can resit in only 1-2 exam papers if i am not wrong) .........

I have not said anything (very few moments in my life i have not questioned the person especially at time like this that how could a person be so cold-blooded, he taught me from 6th class and it was just my decision that i don't want to continue which he made as prestige issue )

And i was the one who was all confused but frankly not even single time i had this feeling that i would not be able to achieve my goals (good marks) or i would be .........I knew i have to work thats all.............and especially when reputation of so many people my respected teacher my parents mine were called into question................

Day and night i worked (never watch any Tv serial .......and even this time parents had full trust on me) ...........I gave my exams studying ARTS also side by side.................my lecturer organised class tests just to disturb my studies........................and to many many other nasty things..........which i could never think to do with my student just because he wanted to change me as teacher........................instead of doing something nasty with someone else sure i would consider the things i have done wrong and try to sort out the issues of my wrong doings ...................

I gave the exam but failed miserably in ARTS exams that was really shock..........................Parents especially papa ji that day said things which sure hurt me a lot knowing everything that why things are happening that way i was completely helpless but i was understanding that why papa has said what he said and how disturb he is.........Mamma who is a very strong woman but very weak when it comes to deal with her children ..........stopped papa ji in between and said that Sukh even before your birth i wanted one of my children to be doctor...............................and i have full faith on you..........but even then the results are not satisfactory and i am having no problems....................to accept that somewhere i was wrong that i put so much faith on you..............I was deeply hurt but she continued she said to papa ji that we should consider our next step either to change my stream from studies to some practical diploma course or vice versa (basically they wanted to know what i think.....why i am doing this and what i wanted to do...................and i was completely helpless and thought to keep quite at that moment of time)

They had meeting with my class in-charge and strangely he said that i should stop studying in eleventh class and should re-enrol in tenth class........................again...... .....that was something which was completely unacceptable to me to my self respect .................................I said clearly to my parents that i will not resit in tenth class...........I have given exams of tenth class and waiting for the results let me see my results (because i had full confidence on me and the way i had given exams)

They agreed and as school did not allow me to sit in eleventh class...................I sat at home waiting for my metric exam results (September one)..............have heard a lot that how the teacher is laughing on me........hoe he is doing nasty things in class and insulting other teacher with my reference and with crap remarks

The day finally came the result was out i got 78% marks............all were shocked................my friends were at home congratulating me...............and wife if my math teacher was so happy that she was not stopping to hug me (ooh my god she was so so happy along with all other family members) i was thanking god again and again..........................

Now question was how to deal with that teacher .........and it was the time i could say a lot of things..........But i decided to talk with him first............I went with my papa ji to his home with sweets..............he was allready aware of the fact and was deeply embarrassed and ashamed of his things...................When we reached his home i gave him the sweets and said............."It was you who forced me to do what i did.............i continued.........(he was thinking i would mention his remarks) but i said................I learnt a lot from you from 6th to 9th and i think because of my strong foundation i did what was impossible (as he said many times).......................and i am thankful to him a lot...........

He was almost crying controlling him feeling sorry for his actions......................but i was not able to see him in that condition but wanted to ask to see my eleventh exam papers also but somehow i just skipped that thing and stood up from chair (papa ji was still talking to him) i said........namaste sir.................and i came out from his home.........................papa ji followed me...............

From that day whenever he see me...............whenever we meet his expressions are like so much Encouraging and favourable................

and this complete issue made me stronger to decide and to think that life is the name of struggle................and failure is a step of a successful life.............

COMPUTER BASICS... (Solutions of Many Basic Terms)

1. URL

URL is known as "Universal Resource Locater" or "Uniform Resource Locator", URL is basically the address of a web page on the world wide web

say

http://www.google.com.au/

here

Http:// is known as access protocol
www.google.com.au/ is domain name or you can call it an IP Address name
and Optionally the path that addresses the files (Location) is known as "Trade"

2. Processing Device
Processing devices are basically which process the data and execute the information and we have many processing devices for Audio, Video signals, Communication devices which process the information etc...one of the example of Processing device is CPU. CPU [central processing unit-the part of a computer (a microprocessor chip) that does most of the data processing] contains a control unit that executes the program instructions, and an arithmetic-logic unit (ALU) which performs mathematic and logic operations including calculations such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.

3. The Start Button (in Microsoft Windows)

Start Button is one of the user interface elements in the Microsoft Windows which serve as the central launching point for applications. Start button is usually localized at Task Bar [- the application desktop bar which is used to launch and monitor applications in Microsoft Windows 95 and later versions, actually its part of the Windows shel] on the left side of the bottom of the Desktop [- the area of the screen in graphical user interfaces against which icons and windows appear]

4. Relative VS Absolute Pathname

An absolute path is created whenever your link uses the full URL of an object or page. For instance, http://www.communitymx.com is an absolute path to a specific web site. This method is the best choice whenever you need to send a visitor to another site or need to get content from another site. While you can use it within your own site, there is rarely ever a need to do so.

As you can probably guess, relative paths are used much more frequently than absolute paths. Any time you need to send a visitor to another page within your site or include an object from your site (like an image) on one of your pages a relative link will work just fine. Which form of relative link you should use will depend on how the site is constructed. Document and root relative paths each have a place in the building of a web site.

CONFUSED? Okay let's see through some examples:

Relative Path: If you are loading a file / image / etc. that is in the same directory as the source file, just use the file name. If the html file is in the top directory and need to link to an image in that directory,
The relative URL would be
img src="top.gif" /

This is the very basic - simple example of a relative path because the file and directory are both in same place. In other words, no path info is required if the files are in the same directory. (very convenient and easy to manage)

To access a sub-directory below the top directory - do NOT use the preceding slashes. For example, if you Home page is the index.html and the logo (ibdhost.gif) image is in the images directory, use:
img src="images/ibdhost.gif"/  (note the omission of the slash :)

Here is example on a web server (where the web root is public_html)

Root (public_html)
.......index.html
.......top.gif

....images
......ibdhost.gif

....help
......path
........index.php (this page)

For this page, the current page is the index.php file inside the path directory - inside the help directory. Therefore, the relative path to this page is
/help/path/index.php

Then to load the ibdhost.gif image (top left of this page), the relative path to the image is
../../images/ibdhost.gif
Which means the ibdhost.gif image is in a directory two levels up from this index.php file - then down into the 'images' directory.

The two dots .. instruct the server to move up one directory. Therefore two sets of ../../ moves up two levels to the root directory (public_html) - then opens the images directory and loads the ibdhost.gif file.

Of course, if the image had been in the help directory the relative path would be
../help/imagename.jpg

Relative path is really easy to understand just by reviewing the basic definition:
A relative URL points to a file or directory in relation to the present file or directory.

Absolute Path: An absolute URL is the URL most people already understand. It is the complete path including the domain - file name. Example: http://www.ibdhost.com/images/logo.gif specifies an image file (logo.gif) located in the images directory, for the www.ibdhost.com domain. This type of URL is what your must use when you want to link (or load) a file that is on another server.

Another example is the absolute URL of this page (which is also the Address / Location of the file) = http://www.ibdhost.com/help/path/index.php/

5. Device Manager

Device Manager is an OS feature which lets us view and change the feautures of devices installed in the computer

To open Device Manager Right click (Mouse Button) on my Computer > (Go to) properties (Systems Properties will open up) > Hardware > Device Manager (Click on the TAB)

6. Four Parts of Computer System:

[INPUT]----------------------->[Processing]-------------------->[Output]
                                                                   -    /\
                                                                   -     -
                                                                   -     -
                                                                   -     -
                                                                   \/    -
                                                                 [Storage]

INPUT: Enter (data or a program) into a computer so devices which help us to enter data into a computer are knows as INPUT devices e.g. Keyboard, Mouse etc...

PROCESSING: Perform mathematical and logical operations on (data) according to programmed instructions in order to obtain the required information so devices which help us to process the data to produce meaningful information are knows as PROCESSING DEVICES e.g. Processor chip etc...

STORAGE: The process of storing information in a computer memory or on a magnetic tape or disk or in other words storage is the capacity of a device to hold and retain data so the devices which help us to store information are known as Storage Devices e.g. Hard Drive, Flash Memory etc...

OUTPUT: The information produced by a program or process from a specific input or Any computer-generated information displayed on screen, punched onto keypunch cards, printed on paper or in machine readable form, such as magnetic tapes or disks ultimately it's results provided by a computer is known as output so the devices which help us in producing meaningful output of information are known as Output Devices e.g. Printer etc...

7.

WILL ANSWER IN THE EVENING.................

READ HTML AS MUCH AS YOU CAN

(: LEARN HTML  :)

INTRODUCTION

Hypertext mark up language is not very difficult language to understand but you should understand a few basic things that how to create a HTML file, what does hypertext mark up language means? And if this is considered as language how it communicate with the internet broswer? and what are it's tags (words of communication to communicate to browser) etc... so in this blog we will try to understand it's working....

1. WHAT IS HYPERTEXT MARK-UP LANGUAGE

Hypertext means: "Machine-readable text that is not sequential but is organized so that related items of information are connected" so it's basically "Electronic text that is stored as strings of characters and that can be displayed in a variety of formats-in short electronic text which is readable by machine" and one more apt explanation (HyperText is the method by which you move around on the web — by clicking on special text called hyperlinks which bring you to the next page. The fact that it is hyper just means it is not linear — i.e. you can go to any place on the Internet whenever you want by clicking on links — there is no set order to do things in.)

Mark-Up means: "Detailed stylistic instructions for typesetting something that is to be printed; manual markup is usually written on the copy (e.g. underlining words that are to be set in italics)-concisely Markup is what HTML tags do to the text inside them. They mark it as a certain type of text (italicised, boldfaced, underlined  text, for example).

language Means: A system of words used to name things in a particular discipline so that one end can communicate with another end and can exchange the messages and information. HTML is a Language, as it has code-words and syntax like any other language.

2. How does it work?

HTML consists of a series of short codes typed into a text-file by the site author — these are the tags. The text is then saved as a html file, and viewed through a browser, like Internet Explorer or Netscape Navigator. This browser reads the file and translates the text into a visible form, hopefully rendering the page as the author had intended. Writing your own HTML entails using tags correctly to create your vision. You can use anything from a rudimentary text-editor to a powerful graphical editor to create HTML pages.

3. What are the tags up to?

The tags are what separate normal text from HTML code. You might know them as the words between the . They allow all the cool stuff like images and tables and stuff, just by telling your browser what to render on the page. Different tags will perform different functions. The tags themselves don’t appear when you view your page through a browser, but their effects do.

4. How To create a HTML File:

1. Open a notepad (Click START Button> All programs> Accessories> Notepad> Click the icon Notepad and open it) and write the following code and save the file as "Index.htm" and now open the saved INTERNET file without closing the notepad...

CODE:

RESULT:

This is my first homepage. This text is bold

So I hope till now you understand that what is HTML and how to create a html file well now you have to start doing the experiments with other HTML TAGS and after adding or deleting any tags or information please always save the NOTEPAD - SOURCE CODE and open the saved internet browser window again and simply press F5 "Refresh" to see the changes...

5. Some HTML Tags now

Headings

Headings are defined with the h1 to h6 tags. h1 defines the largest heading. h6 defines the smallest heading.

Headings tags always comes in the BODY part of html document :)

Paragraphs

Paragraphs are defined with the p tag.

HTML automatically adds an extra blank line before and after a paragraph.

Line Breaks

The br tag is used when you want to end a line, but don't want to start a new paragraph. The br tag forces a line break wherever you place it. The br tag is an empty tag. It has no closing tag.

Please visit these websites now for explanation of HTML TAGS :

If you have any questions please email me (If you know my email id and if you are student of my class or university) otherwise please write down the question or query or anything you want to share in COMMENTS SECTION of this BLOG

Yes.....I consider this post as one of my best posts so far...............Was reading all the posts, which i have posted some months and some years ago..........so here is one of the Awesome post..........The Pencil Maker........Once Again for all my friends.............

**************************************** **********************

The Pencil Maker took the pencil aside, just before putting him into the box.

"There are 5 things you need to know," he told the pencil, "Before I send you out into the world. Always remember them and never forget, and you will become the best pencil you can be."

"One: You will be able to do many great things, but only if you allow yourself to be held in Someone's hand."

"Two: You will experience a painful sharpening from time to time, but you'll need it to become a better pencil."

"Three: You will be able to correct any mistakes you might make."

"Four: The most important part of you will always be what's inside."

"And Five: On every surface you are used on, you must leave your mark. No matter what the condition, you must continue to write."

The pencil understood and promised to remember, and went into the box with purpose in its heart.

God Bless.........

20 Top Ways to Speed up your PC

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Follow these tips and you will definitely have a much faster and more reliable PC! The icon means the tip will probably work best under Win98.

1. Wallpapers: They slow your whole system down, so if you're willing to compromise, have a basic plain one instead!

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

2. Drivers: Update your hardware drivers as frequently as possible. New drivers tend to increase system speed especially in the case of graphics cards, their drivers are updated by the manufacturer very frequently!

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

3. Minimizing: If you want to use several programs at the same time then minimize those you are not using. This helps reduce the overload on RAM.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

4. Boot Faster: The 'starting Windows 95/98' message on startup can delay your booting for a couple of seconds. To get rid of this message go to c:\ and find the file Msdos.sys. Remove the Read-Only option. Next, open it in Notepad or any other text editor. Finally, go to the text 'Options' within the file and make the following changes: Add BootDelay=0. To make your booting even faster, set add Logo=0 to remove the Windows logo at startup.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

5. Restart only Windows: When restarting your PC, hold down Shift to only restart Windows rather than the whole system which will only take a fraction of the time.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

6. Turn Off Animations: Go to Display Settings from the Control Panel and switch to the Effects Tab. Now turn off Show Windows Content While Dragging and Smooth Edges on Screen Fonts.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

7. Faster Start-Menu Access: Go to the Start menu and select Run. Now type Regedit and hit Enter. The Registry Editor will appear on the screen. Now, open the folder HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\Desktop. You should see a MenuShowDelay value. If you don't then do the following: right click on a blank space in the right pane and select New\String. Change the name in the new value to MenuShowDelay. Now that we have the MenuShowDelay value, double click on it and enter 0 in the value data field. This sets the start menu delay to 0 milliseconds.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

8. Resolutions: If you are willing to do anything for faster performance from your PC, then try lowering your display resolution. The lower it is, the faster your PC.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

9. Turn off Active Desktop: Go to your Display Properties and switch to the Web tab. Uncheck View My Active Desktop As a Web Page. Since the Active Desktop option under Windows 98 uses a lot of system resources, this option can have a dramatic effect on the speed of the whole system.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

10. Defragment Often: Windows 98's Defrag tool uses Application Acceleration from Intel which means that when you defragment your drive, data is physically arranged on the drive so that applications will load faster.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

11. Take your PC to Bed: Using the Advanced Power Management feature under Windows 98 gives you the option to use the sleep command. That way, you can send your PC to sleep instead of shutting it down and then restarting it. It's as simple as pressing a button and then pressing the same button to wake it up. You can tell Windows after how many minutes/hours of inactivity to automatically sleep the machine in the Advanced Power Management section of the Control Panel.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

12. Faster Internet Access: If you use the internet for reference and the sites you visit are rarely updated then try the following. In IE (the same can be done in Netscape) go to Tools, Internet Options. Next, click on Settings... in the Temporary Internet Files section. Finally, select Never for the first option and double the amount of storage space to use, click OK!

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

13. Benchmarking: Benchmarking can be very useful when run frequently. It can tell you how your PC's components are performing and then compare them to other machines like yours. For example, when you overclock your PC, you want to know how much more speed you have and whether it is stable. All this and more can be discovered using benchmarking. An excellent piece of software for doing this job is SiSoft Sandra which can be found in the Downloads File Archive!

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

14. Refresh the Taskbar without restarting: If you in some way change the taskbar, either in Regedit or elsewhere, you can refresh the task bar without restarting. Hold down Ctrl Alt Del, and double click on Explorer. Say Yes to close Explorer, but no to closing Windows. This will refresh the Taskbar and system tray.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

15. Quick CD Eject: Instead of pushing the button on your drive, right-click your CD drive letter in My Computer and click on Eject. This will also remove any icons that have become associated with the CD drive.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

16. Start Up Programs: Windows can be slowed down when programs run on start up. To eliminate this, check your Start up folder. You can access it from the start menu: Start, Programs, Start Up. Another way to eliminate programs from loading even before Windows actually starts is by doing the following: Click on Start, then Run. Type msconfig. It will take quite a long time for this program to load, but when you finally see it on your screen, explore the different tabs. They all have to do with how quickly your PC boots, so select what you want, and uncheck what you don't want!

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

17. Fonts: When Windows starts, it loads every single font in the Fonts folder. Therefore, the more fonts you have, the slower the booting process. To get rid of unwanted fonts, simply go to the Fonts folder under c:\windows and remove whatever you don't want. Fonts that have a red letter 'A' as their icon are system fonts, so don't delete them.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

18. Stretching Wallpapers: Don't "stretch" your wallpaper in Windows 98 since it actually slows Windows down when you drag icons around on the desktop.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

19. RAM Matters: If you have less than 32MB then you should seriously think of upgrading it to at least 64MB. Windows runs much more smoothly with 64MB or higher and tends to use less hard disk space for virtual memory.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

20. Partitioning: A very nice little thing you can do to boost system performance. By partitioning your hard drive, splitting one physical drive into several logical ones, you can gain several advantages. 1. If you get a virus or you accidentally format a drive, not all will be lost. 2. By placing the swap file (Win386.swp) on a separate drive, The swap file will be less fragmented and thus, faster. 3. Place Windows on a separate drive and whenever you need to reinstall it, you rest assured that your data is safe on a separate drive. Partitioning can be done using a few programs such as FDisk which comes with DOS. However, FDisk formats everything on the hard disk before partitioning. Alternatively, you can use Partition Magic from Power Quest to partition your hard disk without losing your data.

Here is just such a simple solution, presented in the form of three keys, that when remembered and practiced, keep us going in the right direction and while we walk the path, they also are the catalysts in bringing happiness.

Key 1 - Keep Your Heart Free From Hatred

When people, events and circumstances go against our wishes, desires or expectations, they create reactions of anger and frustration within us.
These reactions are natural and must not be denied or ignored - rather their underlying reason must be seen and overcome - that of our pre-decided ideas and expectations being thwarted.

These emotions occur as a natural progression of painful events and are fine as long as they are felt and released. The problem lies when we cannot let go of the feelings and they tend to seep into our hearts where they fester
till treated. If such is the case, these negative feelings tend to influence our way of thought, and necessarily, of action and become an integral part of our outlook towards life itself. Then everything that originates within
us carries the subtle flavour of these very negative feelings.

The first secret of happiness says that no matter what emotions we feel temporarily, our hearts must remain free of hate.

Key 2 - Keep Your Mind Free From Worry

We worry when our thoughts travel either to the future, or linger in the past. Worry is a phenomenon which depletes energy and divides attention - leaving us incapable of giving our best to the moment before us.

The only way to give a 100% of yourself to the task at hand is to be totally present in the present moment without thinking of what's gone by or what is still to come - both cases where we have no say or control anyway.

Performing the action totally and to the best of one's ability brings back a positive result based on the law of karma - "As you sow, so shall you reap" - a result which would not be possible had we divided our inner being with
worry.

The second secret of happiness is to always perform actions based on careful thought and planning, but without worry.

Key 3 - Give A Lot, Expect A Little

It is crucial for our happiness to come to the realisation early in life that it is our own expectations and pre-conceived ideas and hopes, which when frustrated, cause most of our pain and agony.

Once this understanding has stabilised within us, we begin to live for the moment, and within ourselves instead of seeking outward or external reinforces for our self-esteem or happiness.

It is not enough for us to be passive spectators of our own life, we must also be willing to give and share freely of our best qualities without waiting for a similar return.

It is both wise and practical to remember the advice of numerous spiritual masters that "It is in the giving that we receive." The free giving of your own self without strings attached bring both peace and contentment in the
long run.

The third secret of happiness is to give a lot and expect very little.

My grandfather took me to the fish pond on the farm when I was about seven, and he told me to throw a stone into the water. He told me to watch the circles created by the stone. Then he asked me to think of myself as that stone person.

You may create lots of splashes in your life but the waves that come from those splashes will disturb the peace of all your fellow creatures, he said.

Remember that you are responsible for what you put in your circle and that circle will also touch many other circles. You will need to live in a way that allows the good that comes from your circle to send the peace of that goodness to others. The splash that comes from anger or jealousy will send those feelings to other circles. You are responsible for both.

That was the first time I realized each person creates the inner peace or discord that flows out into the world. We cannot create world peace if we are riddled with inner conflict, hatred, doubt, or anger. We radiate the feelings and thoughts that we hold inside, whether we speak them or not. Whatever is splashing around inside of us is spilling out into the world, creating beauty or discord with all other circles of life.

A young man had been to Wednesday night Bible Study. The Pastor had shared about listening to God and obeying the Lord's voice. The young man couldn't help but wonder, "Does God still speak to people?"

After service he went out with some friends for coffee and pie and they discussed the message. Several different ones talked about how God had led them in different ways. It was about ten o'clock when the young man started driving home. Sitting in his car, he just began to pray, "God.. If you will listen. I will do my best to obey."

As he drove down the main street of his town, he had the strangest thought to stop and buy a gallon of milk.He shook his head an said out loud, "God is that you?" He didn't get a reply an started on toward home. But again the thought to stop and buy a gallon of milk. The young man though about Samuel and how he didn't recognize the voice of God, and how little Samuel ran to Eli. "Okay, God, in case that is you, I will buy the milk." It didn't seem like too hard a test of obedience. He could always use the milk. He stopped and purchased the gallon of milk and started of toward home. As he passed Seventh Street, he again felt the urge, "Turn down that street." This is crazy he thought and drove on past the intersection. Again, he felt that he should turn down Seventh Street At the next intersection, he turned back and headed down Seventh. Half jokingly, he said out loud, "Okay, God, I will". He drove several blocks, when suddenly, he felt like he should stop. He pulled over to the curb and looked around. He was in a semicommercial area of town. It wasn't the best but it wasn't the worst of neighborhoods either.

The businesses were closed and most of the houses looked dark like the people of the houses were already in bed. Again, he sensed something, "Go and give the milk to the people in the house across the street." The young man looked at the house. It was dark and it looked like the people were already asleep. He started to open the door and then sat back in the car seat. "Lord, this is insane. Those people are asleep and if I wake them up, they are going to be mad and I will look stupid." Again, he felt like he should go and give the milk.

Finally, he opened the door, "Okay God, if this is you, I will go to the door and I will give them the milk. If you want me to look like a crazy person, okay. I want to be obedient. I guess that will count for something but if they don't answer right away, I am out of here." He walked across the street and rant the bell. He could hear so noise inside. A man's voice yelled out, "Who is it? What do you want?"

Then the door opened before the young man could get away. The man was standing there in his jeans and T-shirt. He looked like he just got out of bed. He had a strange look on his face and he didn't seem too happy to have some stranger standing on his doorstep.

"What is it?" The young man thrust out the gallon of milk, "Here, I brought this to you." The man took the milk and rushed down a hallway speaking loudly in Spanish. Then from done the hall came a woman carrying the milk toward the kitchen. The man was following her holding a baby. The baby was crying.

The man had tears streaming down his face. The man began speaking and half crying, "We were just praying. We had some big bills this month and we ran out of money. We didn't have any milk for our baby. I was just praying and asking God to show me. How to get some milk." His wife in the kitchen yelled out, "I ask him to send an Angel with some. Are you an Angel?"

The young man reached into his wallet and pulled out all the money he had on him and put it in the man's hand. He turned and walked back toward his car and the tears were streaming down his face. He knew that God still answers prayers.
